Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 2026

1. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. Websites can also use similar browser-storage technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage.

This policy explains the limited browser storage used by rushes.cc. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not use third-party behavioural analytics services such as Google Analytics.

2. How we use browser storage

rushes uses browser storage for a small number of operational purposes:

  • Authentication and security: to maintain a logged-in session, protect accounts and provide features that require authentication.
  • Preferences and notices: to remember limited choices made in the browser, including whether a browser-storage notice has already been acknowledged.
  • Video analytics: to create a temporary per-tab identifier used to distinguish anonymous playback sessions and reduce duplicate view counting.

3. Storage currently used by rushes

Name / category Purpose Typical duration
Authentication session storage Maintains authenticated sessions and supports account security. The exact storage keys may change when we update our authentication infrastructure. Session or for the period needed to keep you signed in
rushes_cookie_consent Records that the browser-storage notice has been acknowledged so it does not need to be shown repeatedly. Until cleared from your browser
video_session_id A randomly generated identifier used within a browser tab for video-view deduplication and playback analytics. It is not your name or email address. Session storage; normally cleared when the tab or browser session ends
Feature-specific local storage Some rushes features may temporarily remember interface state or identifiers needed to provide a feature, for example guest review-comment controls. Varies by feature; removable through browser controls

4. Anonymous video analytics

When a video is played, rushes may record playback information such as viewing duration, completion, traffic source and referring hostname. For anonymous visitors, the temporary video_session_id helps us distinguish playback sessions and provide creators with useful aggregate and recent-view analytics.

Further information about the personal data involved, our purposes for processing it and retention is provided in our Privacy Policy.

5. Your browser controls

You can block, inspect or delete cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. Blocking storage that is required for authentication or security may prevent you from signing in or using some rushes features correctly.

Clearing browser storage will also remove temporary analytics identifiers and may cause notices to appear again.

6. Third-party tracking

rushes does not use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site behavioural tracking or Google Analytics.

Our infrastructure, content-delivery, communications and payment providers may receive technical request information when their services are used. These provider relationships are described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our authentication, analytics or browser-storage practices change. The current version and revision date will be published on this page.
