Everything shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Timmo (Thomas Bartling), is trapped abroad. His best buddy Ben (Jörg Pauly) just got kicked out of his house by his (now ex-) girlfriend. Timmo offers him his couch even though he’s not at home. Timmo also forgot to mention that there’s a new woman in his life, Sara (Farina Violetta Giesmann), who already moved in. In this chilling horror short film for the Jacob Owens Horror Film Contest, we uncover the terrifying secrets of a government operation gone wrong. In 1998, a classified group discovered a portal to a new world, a place they now call Hell’s Hollow. Six missions were sent inside. No one ever returned… until two days ago. Blending a combination of handheld style tension with cinematic horror, Hell’s Hollow takes viewers deep into the unknown, where survival is no longer guaranteed, and the real terror is what waits on the other side. We aimed to create a minimalistic yet tension-packed story that builds dread through atmosphere and mystery rather than cheap scares. Every detail, from the sound design to the shadows, was designed to immerse you in the nightmare of Hell’s Hollow.
