Before it Happens

The world changes quietly,
 and then all at once. Sometimes too fast.
 Faster than our breath.
 Faster than our body can follow. There is a moment 
just before change happens — a breath held —
where fear and awe rise,
pulling us into a quiet fall, into the unknown,
 where the world tilts, reshapes,
 and asks us to step forward
 or let go. In that suspended second, time expands.
 And we stand on the edge
 of becoming. We are living in a moment of change, with AI,
 and many of us fear the future,
 but at the same time we are awed
 by technology and what it can do. I tried to show the moment just before the jump,
 while reminding us that it’s not the tool
 that makes the image, 
it’s the human choosing where to stand,
 what to reveal,
 and what to feel.
