For me, Anouk Kellner's work imposes an intimate experience where the human and machine can merge. In her Airchoirs series, she pairs organ pipes with inflatable textile sculptures that inhale and exhale like lungs, each singing its own pitch and converging together into a spatial voice whilst their harmonies shift with the KADOC chapel's acoustics. Working together with Anouk, I translated her contribution to the Hear 'Here festival' into two short films: one capturing the live performance in the KADOC chapel in Leuven, the other portraying the machine as an autonomous work.
